These miraculous sockets can be soldered onto a keyboard PCB, in order to add switch hot-swapping capability to a board which would otherwise only have accepted soldered switches.
The sample pack contains 6 of each type (0305, 7305 and 3305-1).
For most common switches, two sockets are required per switch.
Instead of soldering the switch directly onto your PCB, solder Mill-Max sockets in their place, allowing you to remove and replace switches as you feel like it, making a solid but non-permanent connection. Using these in a board will likely reduce the number of hours in your life spent de-soldering, which is possibly the most tedious task a keyboard builder can undertake.
The 0305 is the most common model, and the easiest to install. The 7305 is shorter, gold-plated, and may be more suitable in boards with less vertical clearance.
When installing these sockets, ensure proper alignment by first sliding the legs of a switch into the socket, and then soldering it in place with the switch attached. The switch may then be removed and used to install the next socket, or left in place.
Don't forget solder! Take a look at the Stannol KS100 if you're unsure which kind of solder to use.
